Duration: 1.6.2021 – 31.5.2023
Place of implementation: Slovak Republic, Czech Republic and Poland
Brief characteristics:
The “Touch the culture” project reflects on the current situation caused by Covid-19, but also on the long-term state of declining interest in some areas of the cultural and artistic environment. Its goal is to create intellectual outputs for the presentation and development of cultural and artistic activities with the participation of experts from the fields of culture, art, informal education, youth work and IT.
Partners and experts from Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Poland are involved in the project. During the implementation of the project, two intellectual outputs will be created and several educational and multiplication events will be implemented.
Intellectual outputs:
- Interactive web application – an entertainment-educational application for the field of culture and art, localized into several languages. The application will consist of two parts: visitor and curator. The visitor part of the application will be implemented as a game in which visitors will be able to experience informal educational activities in the form of mini games. The curatorial part serves cultural event creators/pedagogues to create new informal educational activities in the online environment, which will subsequently serve as a motivational and educational element for the event. A web portal about the project and project topics will also be part of this output.
- Methodical guide – an author’s guide summarizing possible approaches to additional activities of cultural and artistic institutions implemented by non-formal education methods, with the possibility of implementation also in the environment of formal and informal education. The manual will be the result of the activities of an expert group for various areas of culture, while we will focus primarily on history, visual arts, theater, music and literature, film, etc.). Part of the activities in the methodological manual will also point to the possibilities of using the interactive application.
A two-phase international educational event will be held for participants from the cultural and artistic environment, youth workers and teachers from Slovakia, Poland and the Czech Republic, who are dedicated to these topics, to disseminate the results, verify the outputs in practice and collect ideas. Subsequently, multiplier events – workshops will be held in all participating countries (minimum of 7 events in each participating country). At these eve nts, the approaches and tools that represent the intellectual outputs of the project will be multiplied and used. At the end of the project, two final conferences with international participation will be held: one in Slovakia and one in the Czech Republic. The conferences will be focused on presenting the outputs and results of the project, informing about the functions of the interactive application, establishing partnerships and cooperation between participants from different sectors. The project concept designed in this way is intended to ensure the creation of high-quality outputs, verified directly in practice, ready for their use and implementation and dissemination even after the end of the project.
The “Touch the culture” project is supported by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union.
